The entire vibe of Bab Al-Yemen Cafe is welcoming and comforting. When I walked into the cafe, I was struck by the sense of community. Each table was occupied by a group of patrons engaged in lively conversation. It's such a lovely low-key place to hang out with people. I got the iced Aden (black tea latte) and love the addition of cardamon. I'm a fan! I will definitely return to try out their other drinks and try their food.
Came here to get some work done for finals week and I got this honeycomb cheese bread with some sort of sweet syrup on top. It is truly delectable and just melts in your mouth. Immediately when I walked in, the smell of coffee hit me and I almost impulsively ordered one, especially after reading the reviews about the coffee here. However, I am not a huge coffee drinker (no outside drinks or food btw). I appreciated the quick service and that he left me alone while I was working. He did check up on me once to see how I was doing.
Went quite late into the night, we were the only customers inside. Cozy and calm ambiance, comfy seating areas. Plenty of yummy options. Order the adeni and the knafeh. It's hard to find good, quality knafeh, but we got lucky! Owners were kind and both came out to take our order and prepare our drinks. Got to practice my Arabic, 10/10 visit.
Bab Al-Yemen will always be such a pleasure to go to. It has a very calm atmosphere with beautiful decorations and lots of warm colors that just make you feel very at ease. I love coming here to do some studying, and obviously for the honeycomb bread as well. They heat it up for you and the portion is big enough for two people (in my opinion). The staff is also nice and works quickly, which makes the overall experience very pleasant and tranquil. Overall a 10/10.
The coffee were amazing! We ordered the Turkish coffee, Bab-Al-Yemen latte, and the Mufawar coffee. The service was excellent from start to finish with their friendly staff. The ambiance was casual and authentic. I highly recommend if you're looking for coffee and to try something new. A+
There is a reason why this place has such high ratings. Bab-al Yemen is insanely cozy with its warm interior, soft music, great smelling food and coffee, and excellent service. The vibe is so laid back, and with its comfy couch chairs, its perfect for studying or catching up with loved ones. Many of their drinks are spiced and florally based, so they are definitely for bold palates but you HAVE to try them. I usually get a Mufawaar iced or hot, which is so good. It has a nice spiced cardamom taste and the sugar they put in it must have some type of drug because I sip this thing LIKE WATER. Only thing to look out for is that for their hot drinks, they usually have a ton of grains at the bottom of the cup so it can be annoying trying to finish your drink. Other than that, definitely my top coffee place in town!
Great experience! The service was great and the person working was very helpful in guiding us on what to order. The honeycomb was our favorite! It was so soft and perfect sweetness. Def will return!
